Shiba Surti, CCH, BHMS
Shiba is a professionally trained homeopath and has been practicing since 2000. She graduated from the Ahmedabad Homeopathic Medical College, India in 1999. Although uncommon in the U.S., Homeopaths in India undergo rigorous medical training (in different disciplines such as Internal medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Preventive medicine, etc) similar to conventional doctors in coursework and ethics. During her internship she observed patients recover from such conditions as menstrual disorders, menopause, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, allergies, nightmares, migraines, and various skin disorders. Also, she happened to have some health issues which were acute in nature and her teachers helped her with homeopathic remedies, and this completely changed the way she looked at homeopathy and the health care system. It put everything in a new perspective. She started to move closer and closer to the field of natural medicine. Soon enough she began to help both my family and friends through homeopathy. She ended up volunteering at Ananda Marga Homeopathic Clinic in Portland, OR. Later she worked at Next Health Urgent Care in Virginia. She is grateful that she had the chance to receive a homeopathic education before having two healthy children. She was able to heal her children holistically whenever they fell sick. Whenever they went to the doctor’s office, the pediatrician would always comment on how her children never seemed to get as sick as other children.
Then came a big hurdle in her life when she developed a sickness which required surgery and a few rounds of antibiotics and steroids. Despite the treatment the disease kept coming back and her only option was to have another surgery with no explanation as to why this was happening. Conventional medicine was failing her. She had two children and she needed to be there to take care of them. Given her background and experience in Homeopathy, she made a decision to get Homeopathic treatment and that has now brought her back from the deep dark places of sickness to a more vibrant, energetic healthy state.
This life experience reaffirmed her belief in the holistic homeopathic approach even for cases that are referred to surgery under conventional treatments. She started taking more classes to understand other complementary holistic approaches to serve her clients better. Her confidence in the practice comes from experience as a patient, parent and practitioner.
Her passion is to help families reach their highest potential in healthy living. So in recent years she has explored other natural fields in medicine such as CEASE Therapy, BACH flower remedies, Biochemic Cell Salts, Gemmotherapy, Organ therapeutics, and Homeoprophylaxis. She also helps families with coaching and counseling during their transformation to improved health.
Being a Homeopathic consultant, she sees her clients as individuals with unique personalities and likes to listen to them in detail to get the whole picture so that she can find the “Similimum” to help them restore their balance and live a healthy and comfortable life.
In addition to her practice, she serves the homeopathic community as Secretary of the California Homeopathic Medical Society and Free and Healthy Children Inc.
